So at 100% on opening starmade, i occasionally get this error:

"Your hardware configuration does not meet minimum specifications needed to run the application. The Application must close.
    Error Code: 6"

Which is to be honest, redicious.
    My Spec:
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
    Memory: 8192MB RAM
Display Device: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti
    Driver Version: 9.18.13.3523

Not sure how relavent this is, but it happens more often when i start in fullscreen. I never posted a report because i couldnt ever see the error text, and had to click blindly untill i hit one of the buttons. I thought starting it windowed avoided the error as it hadn't done it up untill now :(

I agree that's rather ridiculous, a 560Ti should have no problem running Starmade.

Seems that this can sometimes be caused by outdated Java, so try updating that. If that doesn't work, try turning down graphics settings (primarily shadows).

Everythings up to date, but i think its caused by starmade, not somthing else in my system as it doesnt happen that often.

Did you try turning down graphics settings?

I tried starting it again, which usually fixes it, for some reason it didnt work this time. So i restarted my pc, then it was fine.
Anyway, when it does start, i can run it with all the graphics settings maxed out. At very low fps, but it will run.

Let me rephrase that, sorry: does it happen with the settings turned down?

I'm thinking that max settings may be just enough to overload the 560 some of the time, depending on what else is running.

Hmm hadn't thought of it like that.
I usually run the game with these:
    Resolution: 1920 x 1080
    Fullscreen: OFF
    FOV: 90
    Max Segments: 10000
    Shadows: OFF
    Normal Maps: ON
    Procedural Background: ON 4096
    Texture Pack: Realistic 256

10000 segments + generating the background may be filling up the Video RAM (both take a good bit of it), causing the error. Just speculation. Try turning one or the other down.
