Now, I know on some other forums this has already been discussed, but I wasn't sure if it had been here or not yet and I wanted to 1) make sure that you guys know about it and 2) give you a little more information that I didn't find on the other forums.
In short, sound -- whether or enabled or disabled in settings at any volume -- does not work in the Linux distribution of this game (at least in Ubuntu-based distributions such as Ubuntu and Linux Mint).
In other forums, I have seen that if you use OpenJDK to run Java programs, you can copy a libopenal64.so file from the StarMade folder to a folder in your Java files to fix the issue. However, I tried the same thing with Oracle's standard Java 7 runtime for Linux and it did not work.
