New Planet Terrain Generation

    Does anyone know how to best describe the recent changes to planet terrain generation?

    I would say that the height of the terrain seems slightly less random and the contours seem more defined. The older generation looked more random and didn't fit together as well. The newer planets have far more distinguishable features and on larger settings look really good. They biggest problem with the newer planets is they look far more cut-off at the end of the plate.

    Necro posting pretty hard right here, but are there any updates on the work being done to planets? In a couple of planet threads over the last few months I have seen multiple dev comments on the work that is being done on planets right now, naturally leading to some curiosity. I was wondering if there were any specific comments from the devs that could cue us in to what direction they were planning to go with planets. Bench Criss
