My suggestion is to add an all too common space problem into the game to increase game realism. This should take
the form of a small furry life form that can be found on some planets (green, cool ones) and on space stations.
These life forms will use the ships core for path-finding and once associated with a ship are bound to it.
These should multiply over time and have a soft high pitch purring sound when on board. They should have only 20hp
and can be killed with lasers. If they detect the ship is docked with a structure that does not contain the NPCs on board 10% of the ship bound NPCs will migrate to the new structure.

    tribbles!!!!! :)
that would be funny scenario being overrun with small fluffy creatures,
but should be a server config option to enable/disable

Additional NPCs that you encounter are a planned part of the game. Though there may not be one that has all the characteristics you've described, there will be plenty of variety.

Question: Can we have shipwreck survivors on random planets?
