North American StarMade Servers (NASS) - Hardcore edition

NASS Hardcore is a completely new approach to starmade. We take the custom economy concept VERY seriously. The pirates are deadly, your turrets suck, and good luck getting a buildblock.

VOTE FOR US! Helps with publicity and gets more players. Glorious.

    http://starmade-servers.com/server/694/

    Changes from vanilla Starmade:

    • Sensible economy that revolves around salvaging and factory setups, completely re-written without random recipes! [LINK]
    • Blueprints are bought with BLOCKS, not credits.
    • System rotation is off (less annoying teleporting, will re-enable as the game code progresses)
    • Zero space friction. Dock your stuff!
    • Very expensive build block. Build block mining is punishable by IP BAN.
    • Lose half your credits, and entire inventory upon death
    • Heavily reduced loot drops from pirates and pirate station chests.
    • Relative velocity for projectiles is ON (faster AMC shots)
    • Reduced turret AI accuracy
    • Increased armor and HP for Hardened Hull parts
    • Start w/100k credits
    • Speed limit currently set to 110
    • Only one shop to encourage player-player interaction! Player shops encouraged!

    Server Rules:

    • Absolutely no build block mining planets or stations. You will be IP banned if caught.
    • If an admin asks you to do something, do it. Do not argue or whine with admins, you may be banned. (It's perfectly cool to kill admins in-game.)
    • Do not park non-docked ships/cores on planets!
    • If you get caught using any exploits, BANHAMMER.
    • Home bases must be built at least 5km away from spawn (sector 2 2 2)
    • Please don't make lame-o battlecubes. Have some pride!
    • Admin powers may ONLY be used to investigate server troubles, admins may not give themselves an advantage in any way.

    CONFIRMED upcoming additions:

    • Breakoff
    • Collision damage
    • System Rotation

    Admin List:

    • BDLS
    • Comr4de
    • Mercur1c
    • Lordprinceps

If anyone else claims to be admin, they're full of shit.

Well, what're you waiting for! Come on down to starmade.nasszone.com:4646

As a playtester of this server, and an Admin, Comrade isn\'t joking when he says the economy is tough. All of your ships systems, from ship core to AMC, require 2 different electronics, each of which require 3 of their own, unique ore. Mining can be very lucrative, and aside from piracy, is the only way you\'ll be able to get anywhere fast!

Speaking of pirates, make sure to keep your nav hud open. Deadly bedlouses and dread pirate bosses patrol the void, and your dinky little 20 AMC scooter won\'t beable to take them on! Of course, if you do manage to kill them, all of those valuable ship systems are yours for the taking! Assuming, of course, you can catch up to them.

In addition to everything mentioned above, there is NO space friction, meaning one pirate bump could cause that multi-million credit battleship of yours to go careening into a star 30 kilometers away.

All in all, it\'s a very nice server, and not for the faint of heart. Hope to see you scrubs there, my turrets need some target practice!

Random recipes can never be fully removed. They will still generate inside pirate stations as loot, and pirate ships can still drop them. Removing every block\'s \'in recipe\' tag inside the block config will cause the server to crash every time a station with a random recipe inside is generated. If youve found a work around for this Id love to hear it ;)

However if you really want to gather the 2 trillion of each block needed to randomly craft a recipe, be my guest. :P

as for station drops, getting a drop at all is really rare. I\'ve only picked up one recipe and it was inferior to the recipe on the server.

ok, so you get lucky and get a single recipe. then what? You go to the nearest shop and sell that recipe for 2 billion blocks. Then you fly to the next pirate station and 3-4 stations later you get another recipe. Do you see my point? This is quite a majour flaw in the current recipe system schema uses.

This isnt me having a prod at you however, I had the same problem on the windoom server. I was just trying to point out any potential loopholes for you to fix ;)

Other than that, the server looks great! Nice to see some proper hardcore servers around

I\'m deleting your post EpicFailLord. I can agree completely with Comr4de; The only purpose of your post is to flame.

    - Cloakers are great to start out in, pirates are very strong when you are starting out!

    - Keep spare ships, cores, and parts at your home base. Remember, you DROP YOUR INVENTORY on death. You don\'t want to be stranded do you?

    - Building cloaking/jamming escape pods on your ships is a good idea. Sometimes pirates/users can be overwhelming, and it\'s better to live than go down with your ship and all your inventory and half your credits!

    - It is recommended that you keep one open docking module on all of the ships you care about. With zero space friction, one bump and it\'s going to take a trip to the void! Docking to that ship will automatically stop it and enable you to switch to the core (up or down arrow to cycle docked entities)

    - How to orient docks without a build block: Get in a core, orient docking module how you want in advanced build mode. Then remove it. Exit core. Without changing to a different block on your hot bar, go place it on your station, and it will retain the same orientation.

If you get a disconnect packet saying that your client is not authenticated, it means that you MUST log in to star-made.org in your launcher.

    Patch v0.3 Notes: 03.03.2014

    - Pirates being replaced with new mob set, Children of the Void! Some
of the old pirates will remain until they get hunted down and killed.

    - Speed limit increased to 120 from 110.

    - New recipe [Mineral Cloning]
Uses 1000 of (Soil, Red Dirt, or Purple Vine Stuff) and 1 of X
mineral to produce 2 of X mineral.

    - Updated recipe [Block to Wedge Conversion]
Can now turn decorative blocks 1-4 into wedges (must buy new
    version of the recipe)

    =============================================================

    Patch v0.2 Notes:

    - Revised rock to hull processing recipe. There is now one recipe that will convert most rock types to a grey hull block (10:1) including:

    Rock

    Ice planet rock

    Mars rock

    Mars top rock

    Terran top rock

Separate recipes that convert rock to grey hull corners and wedges are not implemented, use the block/wedge/corner conversion recipes to accomplish this.

    - Revised Grey Hardened Hull types recipe. No longer does it require (1) Grey hull (5) Sand (5) Purple rock stuff (3) Lava, it now uses:

    (5) Grey Hull (use wedges or corners if making hardened versions)

    (5) Purple rock stuff

    (3) Lava

    - As usual, if you had the old recipes, those will still be in your inventory/factories. It is highly recommended you purchase the new ones.

    =============================================================

    Patch v0.1 Notes:

    - Added new blocks: Lava wedge, lava corner, ice crystal wedge, ice crystal corner, rock wedge, rock corner, red rock wedge, red rock corner. You do NOT require an external download/texture pack to ever use anything modified on this server.

    - Block -> Wedge, Block -> Corner, and Wedge > Block recipes now have the ability to convert full blocks to the new wedges and corners added this patch. You will need to repurchase those recipes if you have the old ones to get the new functionality out of them.

    - Added light to ship cores. Added light (testing it out for now, probably won\'t stay...we welcome all feedback) to purple top stuff and mars terrain for change of atmosphere.

    ?In-world news update!

    • Anti-piracy operations by Arstotzkan forces have pushed back the scum of the stars, making space a bit safer for everyone. Arstotzkan admirals warn that pirates are still deadly and are not to be trifled with.
    • The Weyland-Yutani corporation has recently expanded their inventory! They are truly beginning to establish themselves as a power in this region of space
    • Special Bulletin! Reports of spaceborne leviathans are coming in from the far reaches of space. These reports are coming from deep-space mining crews, claiming that massive creatures capable of taking extreme damage lurk in the dark frontier of the region. However, no sources indicate that alien life is present in this region of space, and these stories are to be taken with a grain of salt.
    • An influx of settlers have recently made the Forvu Region their home. Wether coming for riches, adventure, or just a good fight, the average (online) population of the region has doubled since it was first discovered. (Read as: Our average player count has doubled since launch one week ago. Thanks guys!)
    • Scientists claim that the ability to craft build blocks may be within grasp. However, such a process will require extreme amounts of rare metals like gold and silver. They report that this is due to the extreme complexity of the circuitry requiring large amounts of rare metals to function correctly.

And that\'s all for this week\'s news.

We\'ve temporarily replaced the pirates on the server with something... different. Go ahead and take a look around, tell us what you think!

Since the recent update the sector 2,2,2 has been made into a \"safe sector\" so i try building my ship there, but i didnt have everything i needed and the shop didnt have it eithier.
I\'m asking you if you or your admins could perform the restock command on the shop a few times.

P.s. Im in \"The Fallen Requiem\" Faction and we dont have the materials i need eithier.
