Hello members, I have seen many threads showing amazing ships in this section ranging from micro-drones to multi-million block Titans. However, there aren't any interior decor show rooms, so I will give this a shot.

This thread is not about exterior, or ship systems. It is purely about getting the most out of the currently limited variety of blocks to decorate ships.

Focus will be placed on amenities such as chairs, tables, etc and whatever the heck I can wrangle :p

I also promote people to show THEIR way of decorating their ships!!

    -------------------

Crew room - Show room 1

Sleeping area - Contains bed, table and 2 storage modules acting as lockers

Another view of the room, from this angle, there are also flower pot and medical cabinet. This is directly to the left of the sleeping area.

This is the view of the room from the top right corner, sleeping area, computer area and a little bit of the medical cabinet (Sorry for green box :p)

A computer area, I used to back of the explosive effect computer to emulate a computer tower, and display module acts as monitor.

I have a couple of features I use as part of the existing texture pack to make interiors look better than they might otherwise.
    1. Shield capacitors behind metal grills: tends to be dark, but still visible, so the rotary motion makes it look like a fan for air handling. One of the game artists, Kupu maybe, has declared interest in a dedicated animated fan block.
    2. I'm starting to be a fan of placing thruster blocks in floors and ceilings: the even, grill-looking textures on the top and bottom of thrusters look better than a plain floor. If I had my way, I'd ask for a more regular texture on the front side of thrusters as well. However, thruster blocks are really the only source of "spaghetti" wiring texture available.
    3. I like the metallic "grill" look of the top and bottom of the FTL computer. I'd use it a lot more if it weren't such an expensive block. Turning thrusters vertical can give a good texture on a wall, but it's either only available on north/south walls or east/west walls. I don't remember which.
    4. The rail blocks look great just about anywhere. I'd use it more for general decoration, but I haven't looked at the prices.
    5. I'll put a light stick above a designated seating area to provide light while still giving the sitter enough headroom.
    6. I'll try to align master/slave logic links so that they look like pipes that should be there. Or else I'll stuff logic into a designated engine room, so that the mixed up piping looks right and/or is hidden away.
    7. I'll try to use utility/non-weapon computers for decoration on the sides and rear of a room, keeping weapon computers on the front, facing in the right direction. That way, I get all the utility and decoration possible.
    8. I'll try to place blocks with linear motion animation on the walls so they look like some kind of big digital readout. (E.g. shield caps, power caps, power generators, FTL blocks, etc.) Usually, my interiors are small enough that there's only a few animated blocks at once; a significant number of animated blocks visible at once tends to bog me down in lag.
    9. For space-plane style ships, I'll try to place informative display blocks near important areas, such as logic activators.

I frequently wish utility and weapon blocks had at least one flat-grey side, so that I could place them wherever I chose, and have it look like a simple floor, ceiling tile, or wall panel.

Example interior from my latest update release, including wedge "seats" on top of deactivated light-stick "stems", active lightsticks above the wedge "seats", space above the storage block in case someone thinks it should open on the top, thruster blocks in the floor and ceiling:

    Interior porn thread?
It's some collection we are getting here on SMD

Any ways here's some stuff (will get updated when I take some more pictures. If I remember to do so)
    The Seeker
    Core room

    Crew room/quarter thing

Garden oxygen room hallway stuff thing for life-support

    Hallway with stairs

    More hallway,

    The bridge

    LDCT cargo ship
    Core/control room

    Engineering room thing

    hall/walkway with access to cargo-pods

    Bridge

    Concept stuff
    Core/control room

    Storage area thing

Apparently my interior stuff and style is semi realistic and usually fits dave size and basicly just feels like a proper interior (I'm "qouting" FrankRa loosely about this)
Hope this picture spam is what you wanted, Morti :p

I keep my interiors simple but realistic. Most of my current interior work is maintenance style as seen bellow.

Condor Core Room (Non refit Condor might add some new stuff)

CNY Standard Small Reactor (Capital Ships and Stations)

CNY Small Maintenance Hallway (Capital Ships and Stations)

Yes, let the picture spam continue :)

The more good looking rooms we can make, and draw ideas from, the better :)

I'm not sure if someone's done it before, but I like using down-aligned engine blocks as stoves/future cooking stuff thingies.

And I just realized all my supposedly long-distance warships have a giant flaw in them - they lack bathrooms.

Yup. I've confirmed it in a suggestion thread. It will happen. ^^

Thread OP updated, added a room I made.

Hopefully it doesn't look too bad, though I do have to say I was a bit heavy handed on the grey.
