More build mode helper shapes, and allow the helper to use non-cube blocks too.

This suggestion is about the build helper tool. If it were to include more shapes, like for example, the cuboctahedron, dodecahedron, icosahedron and all that good stuff, that'd be cool.

If it were to also have a 'smooth' mode for players that wish not to have to use wedges and heptas etcetera manually, that'd be cool too.

Agreed, plus more basic geometric shapes. Sphere, cone, cylinder, cube, etc... and make those so that we can set the dimensions, like a quarter sphere, half sphere and the like. And add the ability to "fill builder helper grid".
