Modular ship challenge

    The challenge is to make a modular frigate, destroyer, cruiser, and/or battleship class. Modular ships are defined as having no weapons pre-added, but reserved space for weapons, slave weapons, and effects to be added. Only reactors, shields, and thrusters, in a balanced way. Internal structures are optional, but required for cruiser (bridge) and battleship (Bridge and hallways) class. Turret docking empty except for when their anti-missile point defenses on larger classes. Lastly all names must end in Type_0 to show their a modular ship.

    BTW, you misspelled 'modular'. You might want to fix up your thread.

    Um, so they are just mostly empty ships then? I'm not sure that is something that needs to be designed for.

    Yes and no, the idea is a base to modify off of. Modular frigate can become a support ship, fighter-bomber, salvage ship, or a scout ship. Modular destroyer can become a gunship, brawler, or a AA boat. Modular cruiser can become a missile cruiser, gun platform, maybe even a light carrier. Battleships can become a carrier, fitted with a verity turrets (missile, beam, cannon), or forgo all of it for a single doomsday weapon.
    As you could imagine, modular ships have a long life span, because weapons are more likely to be changed than shields, reactors, and thrusters.
