Just a picture to show the difference between what missiles used to do and what they currently do to a planet. I though people would be curious about the missile damage update like I was.

    Missile stats: Damage 665.7; Distance 253.0; Reload 7.5; Speed 6.9; Radius 42.9

They do plenty. Just means they actually have to stand and fight rather then a 1 hit kill

For what I see, blue circle represent a missile, and the green circle is a nuke!!! XD

But really, the older version was too far away in terms of power compared to the AMC...

plaYer2k, the stats of the missile did not change when i updated my game. What changed is how blocks, I believe all of them, now handle damage from missiles. The article in the news section, labeled \"Missile Damage Update\" explains it. https://star-made.org/news

the new way damage is calculated, damages blocks even if the blocks above in a layer are not destroyed.

a more correct way would be applying the damage to the top layer is it enough to destroy yes or no, ok yes it is its 500 damage hardened reduces that by 50% for its calculation so effectivly its 250 which is enough to destroy the block, ok lets take 250 away from the damage of the next block behind it leaving 250 but this block has no DR and only 100 hp so we do 100 to that layer and so on untill there is no more damage to go down to the next block layer.
from experiance the damage seams to be applied to all layers in the blast radius even if the block(s) above it survives the hit which is not how explosive force works. the force cant damage something if it cant get past the thing blocking its Line of Sight from the ignition source.

this leaves hidden damage which means everytime you get hit by a missle even if it didnt break the hull you have to dig around and make sure nothing broke under it. which A. makes repairs alot more bothersome. and B. Further reduces the effeciveness of having armor at all which it is already accepted as ineffective.

This change REDUCED the amount of damage that would \"soak\" through the hull... Before you could have multiple layers of hull and have the whole inside of your ship destroyed.

Look at the first (prior to patch) image.

since this update, missiles especially d1000 are ccompletely useless, the olny really effective weapon is now the antimattercannon. as you can clearly see on the picture posted at the beginning of the thread, building big missile systems(something like a death-torpedo:) ) is absolutely worthless, you are never able to really destrroy something large with this. I think the idea was good to prevent the missiles from dealing damage below the hull if it is not cracked, but making the total damage this small looks like far away from a good solution to this problem. Giving the hull something like a blast-armour would do better.
