Missile Turrets

I have a simple question about missile turrets, that i didn't see come up well when i used search. If you make a turret with SD BB Missiles, the lock on ones, does the turret lock on to targets before firing? or does it just quick fire them when reload is done/target is in range?

to my knowledge they dont work even if it fires it doesnt lock on or aim it just fires

KB will fire, just your main ship is closest so... the KB will likely target yourself

only use kb on a ship with no turrets or it will target the closest turet unless the turret is directly behind it and at least 5 blocks away from what ive been told
