When you press left ctrl in Build mode you get the advanced build mode menu. In there you can mass build/destroy a group of blocks. I think there should be an option to filter the mass delete. Say you want to want to redo your hull, but don't want to mess up your ship's reactor or weapons. Instead of going block by block, or worrying about accidentally messing your ship up, you could just filter the tool to delete only hull blocks. Or, say you want to swap out your KB missiles to BB. If we had a mass swap tool, we could just swap the old missiles out with the new ones. The possibilities and usefulness are endless.
