I find that resource management and inventories are very awkward on stations.
I'm finding it hugely awkward to refine X, transfer to Y, make Z and then move those units around for creating things.
I'd like to suggest the following :
Stations and capital ships have generic holds that can store items.
Items are transferred to storage from docked ships, not kept in player inventory.
Station production is done via interface, not via block interaction and the capacities are combined.
Building ships should take from the inventory of a station or ship that the base block is docked at before taking from player inventory.
This would permit players in the group to mine and drop off raw mats. those raw mats would be automatically processed by the station.
i am thinking that the station interface could set inventory levels for specific items and those would get produced automatically. other items could be specifically queued.
