Lukrah asteroids currently make armor tanking nonviable.

    Making certain types of resources more plentiful than others is a viable game mechanic. However, making armor expensive doesn't sound very good. Power (or shields like before) would make sense. Are the other asteroid types good all the way through? I haven't been out mining since the update.

    There could be different recipes for hardener using different ores. Which is why I suggested hardener in the first place btw.

    Fertikeen as the material for hardeners was decided upon by Lancake after he asked some factions what their resource usage was like. Most people were using very little fertikeen, since it's only used in niche effects and pulse weaponry, which requires relatively few modules, so it was chosen as the material for hardeners.

    If you make hardeners craftable out of any ore, this will get in the way when the universe gets unequal resource distribution.

    I can't believe that we were able to have a thread like this without someone going "no, it's fine how it is! Armor is op, it needs to be harder to get!"

    My thought was that armor is too important to be entirely dependent on a single ore. It doesn't have to be all 8 ores, but maybe two or three.
