I have been inactive, and now came back to find the faction I belong in to be defunct, so I am up for grabs if anyone wants a newbie to join :p

Well, you can look in the factions forum for threads, which are older than (insert date of your choice here).
And unless the thread is locked or has a note informing about the disbandment of the faction, you can assume it's still alive.
