How does this work exactly because I tried to hook up some logic blocks my a warpgate station I'm testing this on and it doesn't turn the gates on or off. >_>

Uploaded the offending station and ship I'm testing with. :)

I am surprised no one has posted here yet.

As far as I know there is no way to control warpgates with logic.

what you can do is this:
    main structure: gate+capacitors
    docked structure: energy reactors+supply beams
you can activate supply beams with logic, there you go activated by logic gate.
now a small problem is calculating the size of the supply beam needed, solution, put a power draining activity in the main structure/use a power drain to get it out again. I'd say, use something like a weapon system on logic clock using all energy will then take some time but no calculations needed, now there is this unknown problem (as in idk if it is a problem) I'm not sure if it works when the sector is unloaded (probably not) so you might have to go for something that drains a lot (power drain beam/overdrive effect)

    hope you can use it

p.s. that was for a 1 time use gate, to turn it off, just have a button connected to flip-flop
flip-flop to not-gate and then connect the flip-flop to a toggle on/off clock (same thing for not-gate)
and then connect 1 clock to the power supply and connect the other clock to power drain
