Vet people? I know this is still an early stage of the game, but people in EVE have proven multiple times over that some individuals are willing to spend YEARS pretending to be a good guy in the faction/guild/corporation just to steal it all or destroy it when eventually given the opportunity.
Personally, I think that\'s bullshit and doesn\'t add anything to the game other than cater to antisocial jerks.

I support the ability to lock your ships agianst normal entry, in fact you could lock it down by default to the person who \'owns\' the ship and anyone they choose to whitelist for access. That said if someone manages to force their way in via rents in the hull I\'d personally say all bets are off. If you really wanted to be nice you could assume a short \'timer\' that counts down when the cores accessed before it switches ownership to represent time spent hacking the main controls and prevent instant thefts. That way while you could still steal ships it\'d take either guile or a concerted effort by a boarding team to take then hold the main core before it flips. Bonus points if some sort of self-destruct countdown mode is eventually included to give hostile takeovers in the middle of battle a bit more spice by having to possibly race a literal countdown.

Why are you people so trusting? If you don\'t accept random people into your factions, this won\'t happen. Just asking some questions or requesting that they talk to you on TeamSpeak will get rid of the vast majority of those who are only in it for themselves. Currently, the game is indeed similar to EVE Online in the way PVP is handled in some ways.

In this environment, \"griefing\" only applies when someone attempts to cause anger for no other reason than to get a rise out of you. If their primary interest is profit, then the so-called \"griefing\" is merely collateral damage. These discussions are so similar to those in the early days of Minecraft, and look where that left us.

This game is specifically stated to be oriented around combat and hey, look at this quoted from the front page:

    • Destroy: destroy your enemies with your powerful weapons or just infiltrate an enemy ship. There already is a big arsenal of destructive modules: Missiles (normal, heat seeking and target chasing), Lasers, and Explosive modules that detonate on impact

Are you really arguing that an enemy has to tell you they\'re an enemy before doing so?

The mechanics you\'re all complaining about are specifically stated to be a part of the game on the front page. Deal with it.

You kiddin right? How is it working right now? There\'s no boarding in the game yet, as there\'s no handheld weapons or anything. The issue with security is only within the Faction, and if this is not resolved, no server will have any significant faction combat, everyone will be too paranoid. It\'s unfortunate that most people playing games like StarMade are kids, who willing to do in the game what they can\'t do in real world due to consequences, nether most of them know the meaning of subordination or personal achievement. This must be written and taught in the game.

There\'s nothing wrong with placing a Security block, that just gives the access to ship systems via nickname list, and can be destroyed like any other block, and thus be unlocked. If you don\'t know the frustration of losing a flagship to some stupid human being stealing it for no reason, don\'t tell you know anything about the issue. Pointing at the game initial concept is plainly stupid, as game concept always evolves around new features and possibilities, it just gives a slight idea what the game is about.
