Blueprints should be imprinted onto a disk as to allow for players to sell or trade ships to gain a profit. Also a blueprint disk would be neat if some sort of ship yard was added (instead of insta spawning ships). It would essentially make blueprints have a credit worth and allow for ship builders to be successful on a server when out side of a faction. There also could be a hologram block that will display the blueprint when put inside.
I agree, and a shipyard system has been in fact recently confirmed to be planned. Also, I have been mentally toying with a similar idea about blueprint chips/disks, but how would they work? Are they simply an expensive item that you buy or make however many times you want/can afford to, and copy local blueprints onto? Or perhaps would they be generated by some type of block, and cost a certain amount of crystal capsules (or credits, or something else) based on how large your blueprint is?

like the shipyard idea, and the idea of using disk blueprints to create them, and to make it far more interesting, maybe find bootleg blueprints at pirate bases... with a rare chance of actually being perfect, but it could have defects (missing groups of blocks, perhaps only a shell of a group...) "explosive" defects... or just the wrong ship entirely... and make it difficult to tell the false ones from the real ones. not impossible, but hard. just imagine the first time someone buys that "cheap" battleship and it blows in their face.

Or just an empty shell made up of plants and dirt. Oh, I'd be so mad! :D
