Latest update has drastically lowered my framerate

Before, I could play this game with a minimum of 100 frames per second. And now since this update, even in singleplayer as I fly around the universe, I can lag down to as low as 20fps, probably because of all the texture updates. This is really frustrating since I was able to play the game perfectly for the past few days, and now I cant. So my questions are the following:

1. Is this most likely due to the textures?

2. Was anything else added that could be affecting performance?

3. Can I just use the old textures?

4. What can I do to help reduce this new unwanted lag?

Please help. This is really frustrating.

Do you have any applications open that could be using up your computers resources? try closing any applications you\'re not using whilst playing the game e.g google chrome, as these can slow down your frame rate. If this is not the case let me know and I\'ll try to figure out what the problem is.

No I am not, in fact I tried using gamebooster with starmade after the initial problems to no avail.

100fps!?!? dude the most i can get is about 25-26 with 1-2fps at abandoded stations/planets, you should count yourself lucky!
