Larger blocks of beam modules = Bigger, brighter beam

Just a random idea I had.

Big Lasers are always a huge hit in Sci-fi, it would be nice if the beams and cannon particle effects would grow in size as more modules are placed side-by side.

So a single beam module square X will make the regular beam ------------

But make it a 3x3 set like

XXX
XXX
XXX
and it produces a bigger beam ========

This would give capital ships the ability to have some really impressive main guns.

Yup.

(Also, is it me, or do Beams in general essentially look white, despite whatever color is assigned to them, with just a bit of colory bits added on? Unlike Cannon-fire and Missiles which are solidly of designated color...)
