For right now I've got the basic outline of the ship and a few details that I have worked out thus far
The ship design is intended to be functional although currently it is far from being complete.
The basic outline of what I'll be working with:
Originally this outline looked a tad too much like the terran battlecruiser for my taste. with a bit of tweaking this was the result i decided to work with.
Ship's power core:
The race that pilots these ships make use of a dangerously unstable and highly potent crystal formation that can only be obtained from the void of black holes. as a result the crystal must be stabilized using a highly sophisticated method of anti gravitational suspension.

thought about having it firing a concentration of beam weapons but those don't seem to be very cost efficient... will have to wait and see.

New Weapon System: 6 dangerously high powered Lock on Missile arrays with explosive effect. Tested these on a ship I'd previously designed and one volley from each missile can take out a huge chunk of shielding (roughly 25 million shields)
With enough power regen this system is able to fire a full volley (all 12) once every 45 seconds or fire 4 systems once every 15 seconds.
Say hello to the Hyperion Vulcan MK I, the first of several different types of turrets that this ship will be equipped with:

I made a little more progress with some of the interior and have finished laying out the main ship hangar and flight control room:
And some progress on the forward exterior:
The Kwendolin Series Ship Sigil (aka the Kadean Faction's Sigil)
Please do not use this sigil without approval.
Planned interior areas:
-Engineering bay (Engine and jump drive bays)
-Crew Quarters (# of quarters to be determined)
-Engines
-Scanner array and observation deck (bottom forward of ship)
-Heat Ventilation system for the 6 primary missile arrays
-Armory
-Medical bay (seems logical for a military class ship)
-Ship & Cargo bay
-Logic bay
-With possibly more to come...
Planned Logic:
-Battle Mode: -> Turns off all white interior lights, turns on red internal lights, closes all internal blast doors. and opens all missile array doors for battle readiness.
-Blackout Mode: -> Turns off all lighting normally visible from outside the ship[/B]

Armaments: Rapid fire AMC
Firepower: 6,840 DPS
Number of turrets: 2 (one on each wing of the ship)
Details: with a 360 degree rotational axis and self sufficient energy supply this turret can provide indefinite continuous fire that can tear through small to medium sized ships with ease while still providing sufficient support fire against other, larger ships.
The cannons themselves can rotate outward at up to a 90 degree angle, allowing the turret the ability to help defend against ships on either side of the main body.
