I heard it is super hard on your computer to host, but good luck! If it becomes hard try looking up a low population server. that way you can both play even when the other isn't online, he will only be able to play your server when your computer is on if I remember right.

That completely depends on what you are doing. As a general rule, if none of the players on the server do something that would cause singleplayer to hit hard on the CPU, the server will unliky stress your computer above it's limits(on the CPU side, memory is something different).
