Invicta Colony Shipyards

Hi all am new to the game prob for about a week or so now. At first I didnt go much on the idea for the game but since trying it ive become addicted to it. I`m not the best designer in the world nor do I pretend to be but I love the whole Idea of flying my own creations than using the stock ships of other games. Qudos to all the wonderful people with so many great ideas on here.

Anyhow here is a few screenies of my first ship and project from the shipyards at Invicta Colony. This is still a WIP and is pretty much outclassed but for me its an ideal starter as I wanted to build a ship that can hold its own in deepspace on long missions. Internaly on my ship there isnt much apart from a bridge and a few crew areas along with 2 hangar bays for fighters and 1 larger hangar for a medium scout ship. This will be all on this ship until I get more used to the program and what I can do with it.

The ship isn\'t that well designed, maybe use some lights/crystals beneath wedges inside of the hull to make cool effects.

other than that, it\'s bigger than any ship i\'ve ever made XD so good job!
if you need a good fighter/ Frigate builder for your shipyards, I\'m totally searching for some people to build with :P

Wow, nice ship for only playing the game for a week. My first month was mainly me building ships that now look like grey spacedicks.

Thanks for the comments its still very much a work in progress and only the basic hull shapes are there and most of the power gen and shields are in place. I have much to do on the underside and the detail on the hull. as well as nearly all the top part. Once they are in place the next part will be turrets and hull decoration.

You\'ve built this in a style that\'s very similar to mine, which pleases me because you don\'t see too many ships that go for the more spartan military look. The only suggestion I had was add some texture to the hull so it is\'t completely smooth, but I see you\'re already planning to do that. Anyway keep up the good work! I wouldn\'t mind working with you on a collaborative line of ships sometime if you\'re interested.

I think the spartan look is pretty much what a real ship would be like. I have a keen interest in naval history esp the Royal Navy so this look is something along the lines. I do have trouble with doing circular and spherical shaped parts so this is another reason why it looks very boxy. If there are any tutorials id be greatful for any links.

I\'d also be interested in a collaberation at some point sure although at the moment it might be a way off as I tend to come and go on games and with X Rebirth out soon I will be working my way through that after the disapointment that was Terran Conflict for me.

Thanks for the link that was very useful. Have pretty much completed the ship now minus the main turrets.

Total stats now are 3 Hangars, Mass 129234.0, Total Blocks 1339833, Length 495 Height 87, Width 123,

Thrust 269132.3, Power 83917447.0 - 7885625.0 Persec

Shields 3932793 - 65226 persec Recovery 5
