    I think one really cool feature would be too add high value blocks that are 2x2. Or even bigger. These blocks have to be placed to be carried around, so essientialy u need a cargo hold for it. This is because personaly i dont think freighting is very profitable. When i started playing servers i really wanted an economy element which i didnt really find. I had an image of huge cargo ships, like the ones in eve online (eg. Orca) traveling the galaxy with exotic goods and with an escort of fighters. Or even convoys of cargo. Also i think autopilot should be available for these long journeys, so you can walk around your huge ship while its on the go!

    What im trying to get across here is that cargo would be an easy way to bolster the economy and make it more fun. Maybe even if you could sell your ships to AI companies that buy them for more than all the parts together cost, so you can basicaly ship huge amounts of lets say. fighters to the nearest company and sell your load. Ik this could induce cheating/ exploiting, especialy in the early stages of the game (players build a fighter then sell it immediately for more money). But say the ship yards arnt at spawn that might be able to stop that exploitation right?

    sorry if this post failed to get my point across as i meant it to.

    +1 This game does need a better economy system, hunting pirates and resources does get boring every so often.

    Some better economy systems are needed, freighting could become a neccesicity if the amount you can lug around was reduced, kinda ridiculous that you can carry around tens of thousands of blocks around with you.

    The economy needs a definite change and the whole ship selling sounds nice. There would need to be some sort of balance for selling crap ships though. Not sure how that would work, but im sure its fairly do-able. With this, people will have another reason to manufacture stuff so thats great too. :D

    The /vg/ server has a somewhat functional economy going. Player trade is a regular occurence and since the economy/blockset is custom it makes for a much more fluid and dynamic economy. It\'s close to what you describe but isn\'t quite there.
