Suggestion Increase file sizes - File too big

Simply put I find that every time I try to upload an image it says it's to big. Any chance we can have this fixed? Main issue is I can't upload a profile cover.

Have you made sure your profile banner image has been cropped to the default dimensions (923x300), to reduce file size? The current limit for a profile banner is 1 MB, which should be a sufficient file size.

If your image is the correct dimensions, can you please link it here, and tell me the file size.

Just for people who might have this problem:
Don't use PNG. It's great for very detailed lossless images, but a real resource hog for random profile backgrounds.
For comparison, this is Faran's profile picture in PNG:

And this in JPG at 85% quality:



Yes. There is a slight decrease in image quality, but it's only noticeable when you stretch the image or look very hard.
However, the PNG is 335 KB whereas the JPG is 39 KB which is a huge saving.
