So here are a few thoughts I think would make carriers better off in the game.
Passages mode
This mode would alow for users to dock and exit there ship to walk over to a turret or another ship with out getting left behind
Sales block
This block would alow smaller ships to buy and sell stuff to the owner of the carrier and would be automatically restocked when they are in range of a store.
