How can you possibly like the look of them? They are horrific.

Anyways, here is a standard Spaghetti Ship build, 5k mass.

Floating Beam Turrets for DPS, everything is spread out to shit and most of the ship is empty space, which makes you able to avoid 99% of all daamge sent your way because they miss, the other 1% will be easily deflected by your shields.

I love the style because it is unique.
I mean you rarely see spaghetti ships out of starmade.(I guess it exists but I do not see them)
Also it makes me think to scaffolds around houses that are being built.
Horrific is relative and personally I do like spaghetti ship's looks.

Put differently: This is what you get when the Borg get obsessed with Kaltoh.

On one hand I can 100% see that such designs shouldn't be viable for the sake of the game. On the other hand I can't help but see stuff like this and other misfit builds that aesthetic minded players hate and seek to suppress as the dying gasps of what will soon be a lost age of innovation.

I excepted to see screenshots of more than two ships.
But I guess that people who makes spaghetti ships are not extremely proud of their ships aesthetics.
I do think that builders who makes spaghetti ships should make more screenshots of them.
I mean it is a waste to not enjoy the aesthetics of such craft made from pure rational thought and mathematics.

The saddest thing about this story, is that the design of RedAlert_007 is the future of starmade, spaghetti ships, full of "empty spaces" ... if starmade wants to "force / encourage" the ships have "empty spaces", the players will create ships full of empty spaces ...

As I said before, the new changes in the meta of starmade, will create "chimeras" not pleasant to the eye ... but totally efficient.

How on earth can you call this unique? This is lame and unimaginative, to the maximum, they are basic systemlines, that explioit a flawed powersystem, nothing more. I sure as hell dont want to see them on servers, ever.

Why build some random scaffold thing if you could build instead some neat looking ship of your dreams? hell if you like PvP go build a replica from EvE Online...

I fail to see the fun of winning on PvP as the sole purpose of game-play...
I do play EvE online and when i lose a frigate to some random low-sec drone gatecamp all I can think of is how sorry I am for those guys... I had lots of fun doing stuff and they just sit there bored-as-hell for hours just to gank some poor soul every 30 minutes.

Macaroni ships or whatever you call them are just someway to get bored fast.

Uniqueness is completely different from being imaginative.
Unique means that it is something you will find nearly nowhere else(example: this hot dog shop which also sells pianos is unique: I did not found any other in the world even through I researched) being imaginative means something entirely different.
So I disagree with you because I do not have the same definition of unique and not because it is not unimaginative.(it is unimaginative: it is the result of mathematics it is as much unimaginative as an hypercube: it is something you create not through imagination but through thought)
And on the lame part I do not think the same thing: you call spaghetti ships lame because you do not like to build them and do not like their shape which are two things due to your own personality(thing with which I am fine) but me I do not have the same feelings about building spaghetti ships and looking at them.
So you find them lame the same way I do not like eating crude tomato: it is your personality and your tastes.(everybody have the right to find lame anything they want)

For me, a warship should maximize the effectiveness of the systems that ship has, and if that ship does not look good, it does not matter, because what really matters is being able to defeat others.

A good warrior, knows how to get the most out of the tools he has at his disposal, regardless of whether the design of their ships is ugly, the ultimate goal is to emerge victorious.

The mechanics of the game change, and players must adjust to these new changes and try to maximize their designs ... the problem comes, when that "adaptability of the players" is taken as a "trap" ... then Starmade works to break that adaptability, and forces players to take a different path.

If I know how to use the mechanics of starmade for my benefit, I should not be taken as a cheat or as an abuser of those mechanics, those functions are there for all, and if I know how to get the maximum result with the minimum effort, why should I be "forced" to follow rules that limit my creativity?

In starmade, everyone plays with the same blocks, but only some know how to maximize the final result, if starmade wants to end with the "spaghetti" designs, he has to give solutions / options to avoid using designs and prefer to use others.

I've always disagreed heavily with function over form, which is why I've been uploading bullshit like these:

one stop shop for making people quit the game

    "Fair And Balanced"

^Building those took less than an hour each, and I'm now doing a whole lot of cheesed builds like that as demonstrations.

I absolutely hate designs that value function over form and think they're abominations that should be put down, which is why I'm building the logical extreme of them and plastering them all over everywhere in the hopes that schine will remedy the issues that allow such ships to exist.

You know, when I was in CR, we actually used EVE Amarr ship hulls. Punisher, Apoc, Oracle, Dragoon, Purifier (which was even a stealth bomber lol), and they worked just fine. We knew how to fill them with good systems.

I swear, Prophecy would pobably fit in as well, loads of space in that old bird. I got one of these floating around in my BPs, but haven't finished it.

The server you were on probably had modified configs, stealth bombers with any sort of meaningful weapon system had to have next to no hull blocks with the old power system.
