I think the most difficult thing for builders in this game is changing the color of fully wedged, completed hull. A way to change one block type into another by removing it and instantly replacing it with the other would be a fantastic feature. We've already got half of it with removing specific blocks, now we just need to be able to do an instant replace.

Repeated block replacement, paintbrush style, would be good. Click and hold, and it does its thing.

Brush size in advanced build mode could just do its brush size thing and we'd be all set.

There are no functioning versions of SMEdit right now, unless something has changed recently. There's the SMEdit Classic, but that only works with blueprints prior to .14.

By changing the block ID things like a logic link don't need to be changed.
I don't know how a color change would affect lighting... simple replace of an ID in memory is maybe not enough.
