How to start building a space station

Sorry if this has already been answered a thousand times, I have looked through the website and various searches, and I cant find any information on how to start building your own space station. Is it just like building a ship with no engines or am I missing something?

As far as I know, you can use what is called in game a \'build block\' to create immobile objects. The M key deploys the build block that you can une like a ship\'s core to go into build mode.

That is the button to make a spacestation but it cost a whopping 1000000 to make it
