How to make an efficient ship

How can I make an energy efficient ship, please give me some tips !

You want to have twice the amount of power than your sheilds, say you have 5000 shield regen a sec, you want 10000+ power regen a sec on your ship, for your weapons and thrusters. I always add a bit more to be on the safe side. Other than that there really is no effecienct ship design as such, unless you want it looking like a cube then well have fun with your ugly ship.

also powertanks are only good on larger(1000+) groups otherwise, gen is better.
