How to make a private server?!

I want to have a hosted server for me and a few friends for this game. Is there any way of doing it without paying £100/mo in dedicated server fees? All our internet connections suck and we need a stable 24 hour server. Can anyone suggest something because all the game-server sites have defined lists of viable games and StarMade is shockingly not on any one of them.

Thank you for the excellent game by the way schema, my friends and I are surprised all the time by the work you guys have put in.

This is really a personal problem and nothing to do with the game. If you want to play a quick game, you can port forward your machine (google that for info) or use hamachi. If you want a dedicated server, you\'ll have to shop around for one, and that\'s really outside the scope of our game.

im pretty sure you can create a hamachi server just i dont know how.

http://smprohosting.com/ is really the cheapest (and only) option other than hosting yourself.

If you only have a few people you should be fine hosting it yourself. If you don\'t want to port forward google a program called Hamachi.
