How does one upload images onto SMD?

How does one upload images (with the whole image URL malarkey) on Starmade Dock and Starmade Dock Chat? I've been told I'm doing it wrong, but I see no other way to do it. I've been using Imgur as an image host, and once I have uploaded an image (or images), it gives me a URL. I assume that is the URL for the image, but it does not work. It is the only URL available. Help.

right click the image, get the image address, press this button

and paste the image address. Make sure it has .png, .gif, .jpg or any other image suffix on it.
