how can I play a private game with a friend?

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I am having trouble figuring out how I can play starmade with a friend without us both connecting to a random public server.

We are in the same household and we are both using laptops connected to the same wireless router.

Is there any way for us to play a private game together? thanks in advance.

In the launcher, there is the option \'Start dedicated server\'. the server will run on your computer. You can find out the ip of your computer by typing \'ipconfig\' in the console(if you use linux it\'s \'ifconfig\')

Your computer\'s firewall might block your friend, if so, set it to allow connections at port 4242.
