How can I attach turret to a ship

Today i build my first ship with turrets but wehn i launch the ship the turrets just fly around what should i do?

Fly around? I don't think I understand. Either way, you know the docking beam? It's what's usually at the far right on your hotbar when piloting a ship. You use that like a beam on a docking port of adequate size to dock. There is a special red docking port for turrets. Then you need an AI module. Get out of the ship and hit "R" on the AI module. tell it to act like a turret. The AI is deactivated when you enter the ship, so you will have to set it by hand outside the ship.
