As an idea, a block that acts as an anchor to it's hooked block, this hooked block being totally detached from the anchor. The hooked block and anything attached to it will rotate around the anchor. Rotation radius is determined by the distance between anchor and hook.

Would be cool to have rotating stations and ship segments ;)

In addition, rotation speed does not need to be all that fast, just noticeable.

    Station Usage:

Ship Hangars/Engineering, Stationary and attached to anchor.
Living/Admin areas etc, rotating and attached to hook.

I don't know why this is so difficult after having turrets...

Maybe because turrets glitch through other objects and we do not want that on big parts? Then just disable collision with objects docked to the same object.

This would be a fantastic idea; I'm all for it. Perhaps at some point, when Schema fixes up turrets clipping through the mothership and turret orientation, we'll get something like this.

I can imagine both a spinning station rotating slowly in space and a large turret, deliberately traversing around its mount, searching for targets.

10/10 would implement in a game I designed.
