The HFT-1908 was designed with one purpose in mind. Building a space ship which was affordable by the masses. Unlike the rumors which say that the name represents the 1908 failures before this design the name was actually a tribute to Henry Ford's model T built in 1908 which made automobiles accesible by the average american.

While these ships are no longer for sale as they quickly became obsolete and the original designer was never actually able to make another ship that was "Spaceworthy" the surplus of existing ships were retrofitted and modified by various small shipyards and can still be seen in space today.

One ship the Cannery Row was spotted under attack by several pirate vessels. The Cannery Row, outgunned and undermanned (with a crew of 2 out of 3), was attempting to outrun her pirate pursuers when she encoutered the pirate's starbase. Without an escape route and with shields quickly falling the captain jumped on the second turret and he and his one crewmate managed to beat all odds and destroy every pirate in the area. The Cannery Row has become something of a legend since that as it is one of the few cases in which an HFT-1908 actually survived an ambush without escort let alone defeat the pirate starbase.

While not much is actually known about the stats on the Cannery Row it is modified with increased armor on the top turret and a heavier cannon on the under-side turret. Some rumors say that the ship has armor up to 3 meters thick, and thats not including the hull underneath! She also features upgraded engines although those seem to be done recently as they have only surfaced in recent sightings.

Here are a few of the documented sightings:

Let me know if there are any typos and what you think of the ship! Also downloads/stats probably won't be made available as we do use this ship in certain PvP servers as our Combat Engineering vessel and miner. We upgrade it with an underside salvaging laser, powerdrain, powergivers (forget the name LOL), AMC, and/or Astrotechnician. I would take a picture of that one of the upgraded versions, but the last one took heavy battle damage and we scrapped it as it would take too long to repair. Although its not the best ship out there, my friends and I built it with upgrading in mind as it makes the design really easy to specialize for different uses.

PS: I can't get the image to re-size properly. :( I'm using this texture pack at the time of those pictures. http://star-made.org/content/texture-pack-%E2%80%93-low-res-minecraft-style-clean-gui

Ye, looks quite nice :) I like the idea with the plexdoors in the front, you don\'t see that very often. I\'m using it for my destroyer\'s main cannon at the moment :)

A lot of great details in such a small vessel. Love the idea with plexdoors as landing gear. Nice action shots and the one with the player standing in the door has a lot of personality. Thanks for the link and for using my texture pack.

I like it, not gigantic, but very practical. And the landing gear ( I had tossed this idea about myself) is great! Excellent job!

@drs93, I like to use the blast shields on all my builds. I totally agree they are not used enough!

@Pixerlboy and rmooney I actually tossed around the Idea of landing gear myself. To be completely honest I don\'t like the landing gear on this build, but I do have a few Ideas that I\'m trying in future ones and I think it will look nicely.
