Heat Shields. Protects you from "solar damage" for a limited period of time. This is eaten first before your hull takes damage. Requires new special shield blocks. Caveat: more heat shields do not = longer staying power in a solar sector. They regen when you leave the solar sector. Useful for hit & run raids on pirate stations that are inside solar sectors.
Towing beam. Ever gotten stuck inside a planet or jammed inside a narrow space unintentionally and got completely stuck? The simple answer would be to get out and dig a bigger hole until you could free your ship. This is a block that lets you tow other people out of such jams. There is the Mining Beam, I will grant that point. However this also has applications for towing the lazy people who don't want to be bothered repairing their ships, digging themselves out of a hole, or who want some form of realism where they have to be towed to a base to get repairs.
