Given the discussion on the AMCs and Rockets, I figured I would give you all an update.
Regarding what weapons are what, I am trying to keep all blocks as close to original purposes as possible, which includes making weapons sensible on a small scale. This way, rocket pods look good in small groups on small ships, and in capital ships, especially a MAC cannon, you could group all your missiles and encase them in black hardened hull to look like a large barrel. What I tried with MAC cannons was huge AMC arrays with the lowest possible reload time (which was still really fast) and dialling up the damage. If you think about it, MAC cannons fire very fast, and the shells cant lock on or track, just like an AMC.
So..what I plan on doing here is a little fan-fiction, based off the real halo stuff, because of course starmade is really quite different to halo. If you think I have made a mistake, or think you could improve on the descriptions, feel free to post your feedback. It might be a bit long, but here we go. Just a heads up, for all 6 tile textures, it shows front, back, bottom, top, then left and right textures, as this is the format they use in the texture image, and it\'s easiest for me to arrange into images like this.
AMC:
The AMAC is an Automatic Magnetic Accelerator Cannon, often abbreviated AMC - Auto Mag Cannon. By utilizing 3 barrels, at any one time, one barrel loads the amunition and begins the charge, the second barrel completes the charge, and the 3rd barrel fires. This allows for effective use of minaturized MAC cannons on smaller ships, utilizing a 70mm hardened magnetic tungsten alloy projectile. Grouping units in larger quantities allows for faster and greater charging, which when tweaked allows changeable reload speed, impact damage, acceleration, and distance.
Shields:
The compact energy shield was developed by ONI Special Research Division, made from backwards engineered forerunner technology found on a Shield World. This technology is a more compact, modular successor to the energy shielding first seen on the UNSC Infinity.
OC Cloaker:
The OC Cloaker is a early prototype capable of cloaking an entire ship, using backwards engineered Jiralhanae (Brute) cloaking technology. Due to the nature of cloaking an entire capital ship, power requirements can be extremely high.
Radar Jammer:
Standard issue radar jamming equipment present on many UNSC stealth ships. In order to overcome the technologically advanced Covenant radar detection systems, this unit also has very high power requirements.
Bobby AI Module:
The AI core is capable oh hosting a variety of \"Dumb\" AI on ships. In exchange for low computational and power requirements, these AI are only capable of basic pilot or turret operator functions.
SD Cockpit:
A small cockpit which can be equipped on ships, allowing better view angles.
Engine:
A standard fusion/combustion hybrid engine seen on many small UNSC craft. Intuitive design allows for easy scaling of the design, allowing engines anywhere in size from a small thruster on a transport, to giant propulsion engines on capital ships.
Repair Beam:
Another piece of prototype technology from the ONI Special Research Division, utilizing nanite repair drones to perform basic ship repairs via a transmission beam.
Salvage Beam:
Effectively using nanites with the reverse function of the repair beam, nanites can deconstruct, recover, and for the most part reassemble materials. (Not recommended for use on sentient beings).
Power:
A basic modular power generation unit present in UNSC ships.
