1. It would be nice to have GIMP (or similar OS, Linux program) which shows the very same texture in different resolutions next to each other and auto-updates them when you edit the high-res.
2. Also I miss a tool which adjusts the pixel+grid size you are currently editing:
But perhaps there is already something I don't know of.
- GIMP only shows these in multiple layers and requires manual clicking.

3. If I want layers like:|/ \|/ \| . . X X

Selection of the quarter of a block you want to edit (top, left, right, bot) and size.
This means instead of a
5x5 pixel shape that hops from xy 4,4 to 3,5,
you would have1x1 | 2x2 | 4x4 (selectable) that hops from xy 4,4 to 3,5 | 2,6 | 0,8 (position modulo size)
- computer-circuit on the bottom layer,
- a casing with some holes on the middle layer,
- casing deco (individual per block)
- overlay (dirt, etc) that only applies where 2 is not opaque.
- overlay layer.
GIMP does not support me with 4 and does not let me cycle through possible L2-layers + possible L1-layers compatible with each other.
Neither can I see previews with+without 4+5 next to each other (requires 2 clicks at very small buttons in a maybe-long list of layers)
Because of this we need GIMP-scripts or a whole new editor dedicated for editing tiles.Neither can I see previews with+without 4+5 next to each other (requires 2 clicks at very small buttons in a maybe-long list of layers)
