Suggestion GIF support for avatars

    I'm surprised that this isn't already on the forums. Most online forums have support for animated .gif images in avatars. On here, not so much.

    There is literally zero reason this shouldn't be enabled.

    Among other reasons, the main reason why is that GIFs clog up the internet tubes of people with slow internet.

    Have a setting in the preferences section that if you have internet the speed of a potato, it just shows a single frame or an alternate image.

    As long as I can disable it, sure. Animated avatars and signatures remind me of retarded 2004 forums.

    *edit - While we're at it can we each have our own embedded midis in our posts, so that when you scroll down it'll autoplay as each new post is revealed?

    I think it distracts from text.

    Some gifs may be fun, others annoying. I don't want to be the person sorting them into two groups (disable some with stylish) or having to disable even the nice ones.
