Hey there. Below are a few things that I think should have already been implemented in Starmade. A few of these are just creative suggestions. Enjoy, and try to post constructive criticism.
Building Blocks
Turret Docking Wedges. Here is a thread I found with exactly what im talking about: http://star-made.org/content/sloped-turret-docking-units
Plex Door Wedges. Plex doors...that are wedges. I think this should have been done with the arrival of the Plex Door block. Next.
Modules
Aim Assist Module. Pretty self explanatory. For balance I suggest a high price (greater than or equal to a faction module), and only gives you a general direction to aim in. This is somewhat hard to explain so here is a video. Pay attention to the red highlighted plane that Entak (the youtuber) is chasing. You should see a few dots leading up to a targeting circle. (Oh and the reason why that plane was taken out so quickly is due to Entak's plane being so heavily armed. In-game its a real threat!)

Here is a much cleaner view: http://youtu.be/lFKNgfLzRTc?t=4m37s
Keep in mind that the target circle should be bigger than the one in the video (a little smaller than the reticule in the middle of the screen in flight mode). As the size of ships decreases, the harder it is to aim accurately. For me this is not much of a problem (I have pretty good aim). Some sort of general direction to aim would be appreciated later on.
Star System Map. I think most of us know about the "map" in-game. The one that opens with "p" and expands with the shift key. It is an excellent concept. I love the 3D map that moves with you and that you can rotate it. What I don't love is that it doesn't tell me what the highlighted sector's coordinates are. Not really much of a map. I suggest that when you highlight a sector, it displays the coordinates at the top and if you press "n" that sector is set to navigate to. It would be cool if you could also activate it (in astronaut) and it displays the map above the block. You don't want to know how many times I've been on a server and cant find a single shop. I fly around for 10 minutes with the hope of stumbling across one. I can't use the map for obvious reasons, so I just wander. It really makes me exasperated. Hehe, vocab word.
Misc
Being able to make AMC output in build mode. I mean, come on.
How about when you cut part of ship off with your weapons, the part of the ship not physically connected to the core falls off. If one block is touching another block connected to the core, then it stays. Someone has already posted about this before, but I couldn't find the thread. Have a diagram.

Since the tail didn't have any blocks connected to the core, it falls off to be collected by a salvager.
Some sort of towing beam for dragging damaged/totaled ships if you don't have a docking area. It's also good for swapping ships without going back for the other one.
That's all for now. Any questions, comments, concerns, and/or conundrums?
