Game Will Not Launch

I just recently got a brand new ASUS laptop, running Windows 8.1 on a 64-bit system and for some reason, the game doesn't launch. I'll open up the starmade launcher (v15) and once I hit "start game", the launcher closes but nothing happens. I've tried running in admin mode, allocating more RAM, reinstalling java, and reinstalling starmade and updating all of my drivers but nothing seems to work.

Can anyone help me?

are you running the launcher through steam?

What you can try first thing: Install a 64bit Java. The stock installation is 32bit which has caused problems in the past.

Hi, I actually hadn't been running starmade through steam and now that I bought and installed it through steam, it's working fine! Thanks!

ok thats fucking weird because i had the oposite problem it worked through the website launcher but wouldnt through steam?

I have the same problem but i launched it in steam and nothing happening.
I use java 7 update 71 (64Bit).
