Game is stuck on initializing universe

I just bought this game a few days ago. First two days worked just fine. Now it’s stuck on initializing universe. I’ve went through all the threads from years ago about plp experiencing the same thing and tried everything. None of their methods work. Plz help. If I can’t get this fixed I’m going to request a refund from steam. Honestly loved playing this game back in the day :/
