Pretty clear. A few are coming to my mind.
    • Being able to highlight systems.
    • Being able to highlight warpgate routes and wormhole routes.
    • Being able to name systems and galaxies (Damn, this is suggested a lot).
    • Being able to highlight big areas of the galaxies
Please, if anyone has more ideas post them below.

    Also, something like this.

starmade space is 3d so we would need a 3d map not a 2d map.
The EVE map has a 2D and 3D view the one above is the 2D one which shows a great way to view faction territory.

Thats one version of the 3D one.

Can you rotate this map on every axis? if so, is there any rotation in which every star/system aligns into a disk?

3D map can be turned in any direction however the universe was generated with a seed code (42) so it is random. You can switch to 2D mode though.

That does not answer whether or not there is a rotation in which all systems are on a disk like shape. Otherwise 2D mode does not make sense, as each pixel on the 2D map has to account for the entire column of systems and territory above and below it.

In 2D mode it drops all the systems regardless of height into the Hex of their area.

No system is directly under another.

Thats how I remember it worked at least.

I could go for being able to click a station or planet icon in the map in order to set a waypoint, rather than having to WASDQE the cursor over to it.
