Fresh server & adding yourself as Admin

I am surprised no one asked this in anything, so it makes me special. I just made a new server and I am quite new to server handling. I added my full name into admin.txt, restarted the server, entered it, and still cannot access any admin commands. Please help? This is bugging the hell outta me.

With an empty admin, everyone is admin, so keep that blank if it's single-player or tight group.
it's case sensitive in your username last i checked, so

DrTARDIS is different than DrTarDis

So how do I set myself as admin cause the add_admin command will not work. It flat out tells me that I AM NOT AN ADMIN!
