I really need help with star made at the moment because whenever I go onto a planet my FPS drops from a smooth 20 down to 3-6. I have got a decent laptop that can can run minecraft at 60+ FPS on normal render distance. When I am playing starmade I can fly around in space fine, it's just going near planets so I was wandering if in an update at somepoint, if a game developer could add some options which could reduce lag by reducing the rendering distance, lowering the detail in graphics or reduce the lighting effect somehow :/ . I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, if you do let me know. Even better if you know how to fix it :)

That sounds like an issue with you graphics hardware because I get a solid 400 fps wherever I am. What graphics does your laptop have? If it\'s a compatibility issue then people need to know what card you have in order to see if the issue can be replicated.

In the mean time, check for driver updates, that might fix it.

Might be compatibility. I get 200+ fps on planets in starmade and only 40+ in Minecraft. You can try turning off background image, lowering the fullscreen resolution, lowering the star count, and disabling bloom. There are a few other graphics options I can\'t remember but they\'re obvious. Lower numbers=better fps.

I think it\'s a problem with the game. I saw a comment on a youtube vid that said large buildings/land masses have a mem leak and it does make sence. We should be able to put our own ammount of RAM in the game to soften the mem leak. And besides I have 8 Gigs of memory and I preferr to use it on gaming.

Try to give your pc more ram try do give it 12GB of ram. becouse the game is so big and when you land on a planet the game needs to load it but if you have to little rame it will struggle. There is Youtube vid to help you give more ram. And you might need give the game more ram if the first thing dont work

For me changing certain settings makes blocks of ships not render, the core of the ship in particular. So i just decided to be happy with my crappy fps. What did you change to get yours up to 60 though?
