Gave me a good chuckle there :D. Hilarious as it can be though, take care where you leave your ships on-planet; a planet once ate one of my ships, went all the way to the core, no idea how.

If I had to guess, I'd have to say the ship loaded before the planet, thus there was nothing beneath and fell. Always a good idea to dock things if you plan to spent time on a planet, safer for the ship, and easier on the server (collisions get checked non-stop afterall).
