As we all know now the new docking system allows for more customization of the docking area. The way that it is implemented now is a bit broken though. We currently have to put our enhancing blocks going in each direction x, y, and z to increase the size of each dimension of the docking area. This presents two issues that are not working well. The first is the structure of the docking enhancer groups is an eye sore and does not fit neatly into existing ship and starbase designs. The second is you still cannot really control the dimension of the docking area because as you place each block in a direction it increase the dimension of the docking area on both sides of the axis equally.
I propose a simple solution and that is to allow docking enhancers to have directional placement much like weapon systems have now. Whenever an ehancing block is placed it could be orientated a direction to increase a particular dimension of the docking area. This would solve both issues now with docking by allowing streamlined designs for docking enhancing groups and a precise way to control the shape of the docking zone.
