Yes, the planet is very transparent. I know this adds to the look, but it would feel a lot more immersive if it were a solid.

IMO it looks like the only places that we can see stars are in the water, so I believe it is actually supposed to look like a reflection of the stars on the water.

Double click on your layer holding the explosions, then switch blending mode to dodge or color dodge to make them look more like fire and less like a picture of fire.

The planet needs some atmosphere as well, probably why people are complaining about it being transparent.

I think planets are far too small compared to ships and them being flat just ruins them completely.
