When I open the launcher it says: FileNotFoundException http://files.star-made.org/prebuildindex
When I press start nothing pops up at all. I looked under options & repair there was nothing under build switcher when I clicked on the down arrow to see the different builds. I think it can't connect to the Starmade server. Please help.

Just checked - works fine.

either try again or it is a problem with your internet Connection, security setings on Firewall, router not forwarding stuff properly.

one of those it will mostlikely be.

I see this if I configure the launcher to use the "PRE" builds (which are not currently active). Select Installation Settings in the Options menu, then choose RELEASE. This will set you up to download and play the latest stable "release" build.
