Factory specifics

    I have been searching and can't find the answer to my specific question, I hope someone can help me figure this out.

    When using a factory to make grey hull blocks (plextanium and rock in a something like 1:5 ratio or 1:25 or somethin..) But anyway.. It will make some hulls, but sometimes it will spit out some kind of coil made from just the plextanium while there is still rock in the machine...and then another grey hull, then another coil, back and forth it seems, until those plextanium-expensive coils eat up all my plextanium L1

    How can I tell the factory that I don't want those coils? To ONLY make the grey hulls and not burn up the plextanium L1 on coils at the same time

    you can\'t.



    You need to put only enough rock and plextanium for 1 lot of hull and repeat until you have all the hull required.



    There is currently little direct control over the manufacturing process.

    I have spent quite a lot of time recently trying to work out a dump ore and forget system. As the game is in alpha I presume we should or hope that eventually get some direct control such as telling a particle press not to make certain items.

    Thanks! I had a feeling it wasn\'t avoidable.

    Maybe you can make a string of factoryinput or whatever they\'re called, using the 1:5 ratio and a run of 20 hulls you could perhaps do 6 factory inserts placed however, with ingredients in groups of 20. 1 factory input holding 20 plextanium L1, and then five factoryinserts holding 20 rock in each one. Thereby creating a hard ratio (if the input releases only one block per tick) of 1:5. IF the particle press only received one block from each input per cycle.

    The idea seems half logical, but the only problem I can think of is maybe crazy quantity ingredients like 1:250 recipes. making 250 inputs linked to a single PP would be a real pain.

    or maybe you could do a tree system where you could funnel five inputs into one making one input release its parent 5 input-items. Like a funnel pouring into a funnel, pouring into a funnel, pouring into one side of the particle press.

    I think you are on to something there.



    I am going to do some testing and see if I can set up a system to mass produce hull.

    I\'ve only been playing a couple days but its at least an idea. Maybe I\'ll go add it to the suggestion box. Pretty sure I saw one of those somewhere here.
